Alessia Zecchini, who can literally be called the “Deepest Woman in the World.”, is a World-Record holding free diver and subject of Netflix’s The Deepest Breath, which documents a traumatic 2017 incident in Alessia’s life, where she and her partner, Irish free diver Stephan Keenan, participated in a training dive in Dahab, Egypt, only for the latter to never return. Moving on from this terrible loss, Alessia is the epitome of overcoming adversity.

Alessia, has an amazing 35 world records to her name, including those in dynamics without fins, dynamics with fins and dynamics with monofin. On 18 October 2019, in the Dutch Antilles, Zecchini became the first woman to have reached a depth of 100m exclusively with the use of her arms (free immersion).

Alessia has kept her passion for freediving above all and she recently said: “When people ask me why I love freediving, I have three words in mind: depth, challenge, and excitement. That is the deep meaning of freediving to me, but there is much more beyond that.”

Hosted by self-professed aquaphobe and Brighton resident Marco Montemagno, Alessia, in a rare UK appearance, will be sharing stories of her career to an intimate audience for one day only.

On the day, we will be raising funds on the day for Brighton Surf Lifesaving Club.
